The South Shore Welcomes You!
Ah yes, the South Shore in Massachusetts…not quite the cape and not quite in Boston but it has the best of both worlds. This is where I grew up and there’s a little bit of my heart still left there. This past weekend, I spent some time there and really enjoyed myself. The weather was fantastic!
A trip to the South Shore always requires some time by the ocean, even in the off season, I’ve found myself walking the beach and relaxing. I was at Duxbury Beach all weekend.
This is a rarity…being able to drive your truck right out onto the beach. It requires a sticker, but it makes life so much easier! No more lugging your coolers and chairs, just park and unload right behind the truck! What’s even better, you can stay until 11:00pm!
Enjoying myself in the sand and sun all day!
After a delicious dinner at a tapas place, Hola!, it was off to an Irish Pub. There is an abundance of them on the South Shore. My two favorites, The Snug Pub in Hingham and the Bailey in Marshfield, pictured above.
There is always music playing in your Irish pubs so how can you not be in a good mood and enjoy yourself! Here is local, Sean McLaughlin playing guitar and singing at the Bailey.
My goodness, my Guinness! It’s difficult to find a perfect pint in many bars. Usually there’s too much or too little foam and it’s typically not served at the correct temperature. I assure you, pouring a Guinness is an art form! When you have a perfect pint, you understand!
So now I’m back home, after the salt air cleared my lungs and mind, my heart was filled with joy from an Irish pub, my stomach full of delicious seafood and my Marylous coffee fix fulfilled. Until next time…

Always the best short vacationing spot. I hope you enjoyed it. You gotta clear your mind!
